Enjoying the charm of Charleston, South Carolina, has never been more accessible, all thanks to Spirit Airlines. Starting April 10, the airline is bringing two daily flights from this delightful city to Boston Logan International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
John Kirby, the Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, shared his excitement at this development, saying, “Charleston’s historic sites, booming food scene, and beautiful beaches have made it one of the most popular U.S. leisure destinations, and Spirit’s new, daily nonstop flights are a convenient and affordable way for our guests in Boston and New York to enjoy all the city has to offer this spring.”
This expanded schedule aligns with Spirit Airline’s first anniversary in Charleston this April. The airline plans to offer five nonstop flights, giving travelers even more options to connect with major metro areas in the northeast.
The decision to expand services in Charleston comes amid recent legal developments, with a federal judge blocking the proposed merger between Spirit Airlines and JetBlue. Despite the legal hurdles, Spirit Airlines remains focused on providing cost-effective travel solutions.
As a low-cost carrier, Spirit offers no-frills tickets with additional charges for amenities like baggage and seat selection. Travelers can also enjoy discounts on these extras by becoming members of the Saver$ Club, a paid yearly membership program introduced by Spirit Airlines. Additionally, the airline has rolled out a status-matching program, allowing travelers to access similar perks for a fee.
