Renowned luxury hospitality brand Four Seasons, in partnership with Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited, is poised for an exciting comeback to the dynamic city of Shanghai. The grand reveal of a new luxury hotel, expected to welcome guests in 2027, will feature 160 opulent rooms and suites across its 44 stories, offering a splendid haven for discerning travelers. Positioned along the iconic Huaihai Zhong Road in the heart of the Huangpu district of Puxi, the hotel will be centrally located amid the city’s bustling shopping, dining, and entertainment scene.
Bart Carnahan, the President of Global Business Development, Portfolio Management, and Residential at Four Seasons, noted, “In our portfolio expansion across China, Shanghai remains a key market for luxury travelers.” Emphasizing the collaboration with Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited, Carnahan underscored their dedication to introducing the distinctive service, quality, and care synonymous with Four Seasons to this exciting new venture.
The Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai is designed to offer guests an immersive local experience. At the base of the development, the hotel will feature thoughtfully conserved and restored traditional lane houses known as Shikumen. These traditional Chinese dwellings, distinguished by high brick walls and elaborate gateways, will provide a unique respite from the energy of Shanghai. The hotel aims to capture the essence of historic, residential-style architecture through locally sourced materials, verdant courtyards with native greenery, and more.
Adding to Shanghai’s dynamic culinary scene, the hotel will introduce five new original culinary concepts. From a signature Shanghai seafood restaurant to a vibrant Italian trattoria, the offerings are poised to complement the city’s diverse palate. The hotel will also boast 670 square meters of meeting and event space, along with comprehensive wellness facilities spanning 690 square meters, ensuring that every guest experiences unmatched quality and genuine care at every touchpoint.
